Wheel alignment & balancing in Mildenhall

Two different jobs that help address tyre wear, pulling and vibration.

What does alignment do?

Wheel alignment concerns the angles at which the wheels sit relative to the vehicle and the road. Checking those angles against the vehicle’s specification can help investigate uneven tyre wear, an off-centre steering wheel or pulling to one side. The checks and adjustments available depend on the vehicle’s design.

What does balancing do?

Balancing addresses uneven weight distribution in a wheel and tyre assembly. A technician measures the imbalance and fits suitable weights to help the assembly rotate smoothly. Imbalance can cause vibration, often noticed at particular speeds, through the steering wheel or the vehicle body.

Which one do you need?

Tell us what you feel and when it happens. A pull or uneven wear may call for alignment checks; a speed-related vibration may call for balancing. These symptoms are clues, not a diagnosis. Tyre damage, pressure differences, worn suspension or other faults can cause similar symptoms and may need attention first.

After a pothole or tyre change

If handling changes after an impact, arrange an inspection and mention what happened. If a vibration starts after tyres have been fitted, describe the speed and where you feel it. A severely damaged tyre or wheel needs assessment before further driving. Avoid assuming that an adjustment alone will fix impact damage.

Checks at Vince’s Tyre & Auto

Our Mildenhall workshop offers wheel alignment, wheel balancing and investigation of related concerns. We can discuss your tyres and any suspension issues that may affect the result. Call with your registration, describe the symptoms, and mention recent tyre fitting, suspension repairs or impacts. We’ll help you work out a sensible starting point.
